Subash Sahoo

With 31 years in the film industry as a Sound Designer & Sync Sound Engineer, Subhash Sahoo has worked on 160 films. Notable films include Omkara, Kaminey, OMG-2, Ram Setu, Khosla Ka Ghosla, NH 10, Neerja, Tumhari Sulu, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, Budhia Singh: Born to Run, etc., collaborating with directors like Vishal Bharadwaj, Shyam Benegal, Sudhir Mishra, Dibakar Banerjee, Ram Madhvani, Navdeep Singh, Amit Rai, and more than 60 others, both on location and in post-production. He has also worked as a Sound Designer in Marathi, Punjabi, Bengali, and Assamese languages.

He has received several accolades which include, 2 National Awards and 4 IRAA Awards and other awards like Filmfare, Star Screen, Jaipur International Film Festival, , etc., as a Sync Sound Engineer and Sound Designer. The two National Awards include superhit films like 'Omkara' and 'Kaminey.'

He has also worked as a Sound Designer for 12 Odia films without any remuneration, for which he received 4 Odisha State Awards. To support other regional cinema, he has worked on 12 Gujarati films as a Sound Designer and received 2 Gujarat State Awards.

Apart from Sound Designing, he has also held several honorary posts, such as Member of the FTII Society, Jury Member of ZIMA Music Award and Star Screen Award, Oscar Jury Member for Indian film participation in the Oscars, and several others. He is a guest faculty member at various film schools in India, including FTII (Pune), SRFTII (Kolkata), Whistling Woods (Mumbai), Annapurna Institute (Hyderabad), CRAAFT (Delhi), and BOFTII (Odisha), etc. He has been the General Secretary of the Sound Association (WIMPTSEA) of India since 2009.
