Goutam Basu has been working as a Sound Recordist and Song mixing engineer for Bengali music and film industry since 1996. Not being a child of a musical family, he gained all his recording and musical knowledge through practical experiences. He has worked for Studio Trackfield, Studio Resonance and currently he is the Sound Recordist of Studio Vibrations, Kolkata. He has worked with singers like Manna Dey, Usha Uthup, Kumar Sanu, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty, Ustad Rashid Khan and many other renowned singers.
He has recorded some famous albums for various singers like Shaan, Lopamudra Mitra, Srikanta Acharya, Subhamita Banerjee. He also worked with various Music Directors of Bengal like Debojyoti Mishra, Joy Sarkar, Jeet Ganguly, Ashok Bhadra, Anupam Roy and Soumyojit Sourendro. He has done various projects with Pt. Tejendra Narayan Majumdar, Pt. Vijoy Kichlu, Pt.Tanmay Bose, Pt.Prattyush Banerjee and some film projects and albums for Bangladesh. He has recorded songs for bollywood movies like Kahaani, Fitoor etc.
